Energy Expenditure during Acute Weight Training Exercises in Healthy Participants: A Preliminary Study

نویسندگان

چکیده

Energy expenditure during weight training exercises produces great fitness and health benefits for humans, but few studies have investigated energy directly training. Therefore, in this study, we aimed to determine costs three sessions consisting of different exercises. Ten participants were randomly allocated into two groups: an untrained (n = 5, with no experience) a trained group some experience). Each participant completed on separate days. While wearing mask indirect calorimetric measurements, each participated conducted dumbbell exercises: the bent-over row, deadlift, lunge. Metabolic equivalents (METs), (EE), respiratory exchange ratio (RER), heart rate (HR), systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic (DBP), perceived exertion (RPE) measured. The total cost was calculated from oxygen consumption (VO2) exercise. Our results showed that METs single session 3.3 3.4 group, while sum EE 683–688 779–840 kcal, respectively. physiological parameters, such as (p 0.001 *) lunge 0.005 changed significantly both groups. It concluded exercise protocol study involved moderate intensity 2.4–3.9 METs. between 179 291 kcal.

Effects of diet cycling during training on weight loss and resting energy expenditure: a preliminary analysis

Background Long-term dieting has been reported to reduce resting energy expenditure (REE) leading to weight regain once the diet has been curtailed. Diets are also difficult to follow for a significant length of time. The purpose of this preliminary proof of concept study was to examine the effects of short-term intermittent dieting during exercise training on REE and weight loss in overweight ...

Aerobic Energy Expenditure and Intensity Prediction during a Specific Circuit Weight Training: a Pilot Study

During circuit weight training (CWT), workloads, index of intensity as well as estimation of energy expenditure (EE) have been under estimated. The aim of this study was to describe and evaluate physiological variables and gender related differences, including intensity prediction and EE, during CWT at different intensities. Twenty six subjects were assessed in a CWT, fourteen men and twelve wo...

Study of Resting Energy Expenditure and Weight Changes during Pregnancy

In the present study, we have followed 4 pregnant women during pregnancy. The participants measured their resting energy expenditure (REE), weight, and activity, and recorded caloric intake. REE was measured with a mobile indirect calorimeter, BreezingTM on a weekly basis, and used to determine total energy expenditure (TEE) and daily caloric intake needs. The measured REE profi les indicated i...

Cardiovascular Fitness and Energy Expenditure Response during a Combined Aerobic and Circuit Weight Training Protocol

OBJECTIVES The present study describes the oxygen uptake and total energy expenditure (including both aerobic and anaerobic contribution) response during three different circuit weight training (CWT) protocols of equivalent duration composed of free weight exercises, machine exercises, and a combination of free weight exercises intercalating aerobic exercise. DESIGN Controlled, randomized cro...

Acute Effects of Different Weight Training Methods on Energy Expenditure in Trained Men

Introduction: The Weight training has been widely used as strategy of reduction and weight control, so the energy expenditure (EE) contributes significantly to this process. Objective: To compare the acute effects of the circuit method (CM) with the traditional method (TM) on the EE. Methods: This research had a randomized crossover design; the sample consisted of ten adult men recreationally t...
